Tower-house is the imprint of Mani map of Greek traditional architecture. The towers in Mani had obvious defensive character and storage spaces and large living rooms, where Mani gathered for everyday activities. In addition there are 3-6 floors with rooms for accommodation.
In the mid 19th century there were over 900 towers-house and towers-war, most of them in the Middle Mani. The towers-war are differently from the towers-house, because tower-war has the loopholes and the hot utensil of which spilled hot oil over the intruders.
