The Vatheia is the most famous village of Mani by posters and postcards. It's really impressive, built on a hill, with dense layout and imposing consecutive towers 6 cm, which was leased in the late 70s for over 20 years. The towers served as hostels for some years, giving life again, in the deserted village. However in the late 90s the towers were returned to their owners, who were unbearable maintenance costs, resulting in a beautiful Vatheia deserted again.
